Mya is back with her fourth album and with a new family. We remember her coming out at the age of eighteen with her sexy single It’s All About Me. She kept us moving with the singles Movin On and Best of Me. She has been blessed to reach two platinum albums and the 2003 release Moodring went gold. Although we haven’t heard any music, she has been busy with roles in Havana Nights, Shall We Dance, and earning the Screen Actors guild Award for Outstanding Performance by the Cast of a Theatrical Motion Picture for Chicago.
After releasing three successful albums at Interscope Records, in 2005 she signed with Universal Motown Records, where she says “I feel that I’ve found home.”” She titled her album Liberation stating “I’m putting my real experiences out there.” With her new single Lock U Down featuring Lil Wayne and produced by Scott Storch is blazing the airwaves all over; the reggae mix with Baby Cham is just as hot!! Some of the more intimate ballads include Life’s Too short; Ridin where she goes through the emotions of looking for her man in the middle of the night. Mya states that “if there’s a theme on the album its self confidence that comes from my own personal experiences.” It stands true with songs such as I Am and Still A Woman.

Besides music Mya is active with her Mya Arts Foundation with her love of dancing. She recently signed with the Ford Modeling Agency. Be on the lookout for Liberation late 2007.
